Oxytocin is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus in the brain, and has been shown to make people trust each other more and promote feelings of love. But this hormone has now been found to have limits, since it promotes love and trust only towards people of the same "in-group" and not towards people who are seen as different. Psychologists have therefore concluded it is involved in ethnocentrism.

   1. took 6 hot beers from my garage and he placed them into a steel pot from the kitchen

   2. tossed in enough ice cubes to completely cover the beer

   3. then filled the pot with water

   4. Next, and this is the trick, tossed in (what must have been) 2 cups of table salt.

   5. took a large wooden spoon and stirred this thing up to be sure the salt dissolved.

   6. placed the concoction into the freezer and in 3 minutes we had ice cold beer.

The company, if you recall, was sued early last year by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, among others, for what the plaintiffs called deceptive and unsubstantiated health claims on Vitaminwater labels. So, what's the difference between Toyota Prius and this hybrid Porche?

When a Toyota Prius driver steps on the brakes, an electric motor/generator stores that power in a big battery under the back seat, and then uses it to provide power getting away from stoplights or for acceleration, someones on battery power alone. The car decides when to use the battery power, except that in some hybrids there's an EV (electric vehicle-only) button that lets you creep into the driveway late at night in case you don't want to wake the kids.

The Porsche racecar has two electric motors in the front wheels, each with a capacity of 60 kW or about 80 hp, 160 hp total. When the driver brakes, the motor generators provide electricity that spins up the flywheel (via a motor in the flywheel assembly). When the driver needs power, he presses a button on the steering wheel and the energy flow reverses. If the flywheel is fully spun up, it produces 5-7 seconds of power, and it's pretty much all on or all off when the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead. If the wheel is at an angle, partial power is applied.

The main protagonist, Jim Raynor
has been seen before loads of times, and even with his new Marine
armour, the CMC combat suit, or
"hardskin" as the grunts call them. If you read our single player
previews, you know pretty much everything there is to know about Jimmy.
He's a bit out of luck, and feel down, taking up drinking a bit, and
everything is looking pretty dark, 4 years after the "defeat" of the
Zerg.

This wild card of a character, Sarah
Kerrigan starts out as a love interest of Jimmy, and ends up his
fiercest enemy. Whether there's still any human emotions left in her,
or she's truly corrupted is the main plot of the
first game, and will likely be so in the second. One thing is clear, the
Zerg has spent the 4 last years evolving and improving, and they will
not be defeated easily. What actually will happen with Kerrigan is a
mystery.

The fact she'll appear in the game is no news. We've seen lots of
Kerrigan in previous SC2 media, and she's an essential character. There
were some misconceptions about Kerrigan having dreads in the first game,
which is hard to make out with the low resolution. Regardless if it was
just a low polygon count that made her red hair look like it had
dreads, or if it is an actual change in art direction, any thoughts on
dreads are now directed to low polygon/pixel count. She did, officially,
NOT have dreads! However, the Queen of
Blades is a whole 'nother topic...

Eye expert: Watching 3D for an hour-and-a-half is the maximum

Eye specialist and MD of Butterflies Healthcare, James Sutton, has told VideoGaming247 that it's best to keep viewing of 3D imagery to less than two hours. Speaking in an exclusive interview with the site, the UK optometrist stated that prolonged 3D use in video games is a "worry".

"I would have said about an hour, an hour-and-a-half, to be about the maximum," Sutton said about the maximum viewing time for a single sitting of 3D content. It affects each individual differently as some people aren't all that phased by the process.

"A lot of people do say when they come out of the cinema that they are aware they’ve done something different with their eyes, even if it’s not to the extent of a headache or sickness, but they’re aware that it was hard work to watch.

"People who get less than six hours sleep per night have an increased risk of dying prematurely, researchers said on Wednesday.

Those who slumbered for less than that amount of time were 12 percent more likely to die early, though researchers also found a link between sleeping more than nine hours and premature death.

"If you sleep little, you can develop diabetes, obesity, hypertension and high cholesterol," Francesco Cappuccio, who led research on the subject at Britain's University of Warwick, told AFP.

Having a nice vacation during Chinese New Year was kinda bittersweet to me. I got an opportunity to visit some nice and interesting places but unable to house visiting at my friends and family.

I went to Beijing with my family, of course along with my uncle’s family and his staffs from his company. We started our journey from Klang started at 5.30 in the morning to catch our 9.00 a.m. flight all the way to Beijing via MAS airline. The journey was hectic as the plane often shaking due to the turbulence but in the end we made it.

The journey was 5 hours long and the temperature during the day time was average about 5-12 degrees and –2 to –11 degrees at night. The cold weather was bearable until the wind blows……

At Beijing during this season, the day time was shorter and many shops started to close as early as 9p.m. At 6 o’clock in the evening, the sun started to sets and it almost looks as it has already been 8 o’clock at night.

At the second day, we start our tour with the Tiananmen Square as our first stop, the place is big and it’s freezing cold to the point that you cannot feel your feet, fingers and your nose anymore…

The place were flooded with visitors mostly from the other states of China and also foreign visitors like us too…
When approaching the main gate (at below of the Chairman Mao’s portrait), we were greeted by this…
All the water in the drains and river were frozen right before we enter to the Forbidden City. But before that, here’s some of the pictures that I’ve took along the way right before entering the Forbidden City.

The top two pictures were the China’s Government offices while the bottom is the memorial of the Chairman Mao.

Upon entering the Forbidden City, we were greeted by the two lions guarding the main entrance. The tour guide told us that the 2 lions were actually a male and a female. He told us that the male lion will be always on the left and one of the paws will be on the globe while the female will be always on the right and the paws is actually on top of a little cubs…if I’m not mistaken.

Then at night, we went to this acrobatic show to watch some acrobatic performances but too bad we were not allowed to take pictures during the show.

On the next day, we went to Beijing wax museum where the life size wax figure the depicts the rise and fall of the Ming Dynasty.

After finished visiting, we went to the man made marvels – The Great Wall.

Before we started to climb the Great Wall, we were greeted by this monument. Since I’m illiterate in Chinese, but I believed it mention that ‘Those who never climb the Great Wall is not a man’. So I took the challenge and climb…just when the cold wind started to blow……
The worst part is, I only wear 2 layers of shirts and a not-winter-ready jacket……

One thing that caught my eye is this one…couple locks. This is for those couples who wanna ‘lock themselves forever’…lol.
Climbing the Great Wall was one thing, but when you look down…

Seriously, this is one part that you need to reconsider if you have no guts to climb the wall……only a few of us like my brothers, cousins, and some young staff workers managed to climb the wall. During the climbing process, many people kau peh kau buu and some youngsters even cry because they were tired, cold, and scared when they look down. The ang mohs also surrender…

I do injured my left foot while climbing the Great Wall. To add salt into the wounds, our next trip is the skiing…gosh.Skiing was nice unfortunately due to lack of time I couldn’t try other slopes. Here’s a tip for skiing: Always pay attention and listen to the trainer or else you will falling with ‘style’ instead of skiing and if you wanna maintain a constant speed,do not use the “ice batang (the one I holding at my right hand)”. If not, you will lost control and um……you don’t wanna know what happens next.

On to the next day, as early in the morning we went to Hutong and went around the perimeter of the place via trishaws where the place is considered as the living museum. The place is actually a housing area built many many generations ago and the place is now open for public where you can see all sorts of stuffs – stuffs that your grandparents used to use during their era before technology swallows us up… This is the iconic bell tower in Hutong. Sitting in the middle of the town, the huge bell tower makes the whole houses here in Hutong looks like hut…
We went inside one of the house and the owner of the house told us about the history of Hutong and also his family tree. Then we met one of the world champion breeder in Cricket fighting…
Here, he show us the grasshoppers that he breeds and his winning cricket…

And of course, the equipments and tools that were used in the tournament. The funny thing is that the cricket and the grasshoppers he breed weren’t kept in a cage. Instead, he kept them in a bamboo and hide it under his clothes.
One fact he told us however is that the cricket in China is a serious matter. One good cricket can be sold up to RMB30000 or RM15k and when we try to grab one of his equipment to take a closer look, the man turn angry face and scold us as we were not allowed to touch any of his stuffs……

Finished visiting that place, we went to the infamous Bird’s Nest stadium which now turns into a snow resort and here are a few snapshots of the stadium and also the Olympic swimming stadium…

To our final stop of the following day is the tea shop where we spent a few thousands ringgits(not me) to buy tea leaves and then we went to the Temple of Heaven…
Then at night we went to watch this Shao Lin Kung Fu where the performance might be amazing but to me, it’s boring and wasting a lot of time there. To watch a better performance, try YouTube instead….lol.

The last and final trip is shopping. When we arrived there, we saw the ‘China’ version of the lion dance. The lion dance is dull and boring if compared to the Malaysian’s one…

Inside, you can buy anything you want and it is all imitation goods…from branded clothing to the fake iPhone and you can use your bargaining skills to get a good price like my uncle who bought an original Nintendo Wii for only RM600 plus 3 controllers while other bought fake iPhone (RM130 for non-Wi-Fi and RM250 for the Wi-Fi). Btw, the fake iPhone does has an accelerometer, multitouch, and everything that the original iPhone does. Just be careful the phone not to go kaboom when in recharge it’s batteries.

Firecrackers!! FYI we spend about RMB2000+ which is equivalent to RM1k to brighten the night of Beijing. Furthermore, the smells of gun powder fills the night and I mean EVERY NIGHT!!

Who says Batu Pahat is a boring place?

Actually it is a boring place to be. Why? Because the food is tasteless and the shopping complexes are only for the fashion freaks. If you don’t believe me, you can drop by to the places like Summit Batu Pahat where the fashion and hair stylist freaks gather there…If these weren’t in your interests, then YES it is a boring place to be.

Okay, visiting to shopping complexes and commenting at people wasn’t my thing at all. However, if you have a car with at least 3/4 tank full (on Viva, especially) it will take you to the place where no shopping complexes have invaded before.

The place to get out from the lousy town is here: Pantai Minyak Beku. Of course, the place wasn’t look like Morib beach in Banting and way more better. The place is quite far off from the town and getting to there requires to drive through the long-twisted winding road but I can say is worth it. There’s only two places we have visited and the first stop is the main tourist attraction is the temple which facing towards to the sea. From there, you can spot many tourist armed with their cameras who were brave enough to stand on the mud and grab some nice shots like this……
By the way, this place is not for those people who wants to go for water activities but sure enough that is a nice place to grab some nice breath taking sceneries like a few that I’ve took……sorry for the poor camera lightning.

Back to the temple…
Did I mention that this temple is unique? This temple has their own special attractions besides praying and lighting the giant incense coil. They have fish – BIG FISH but not the fish which caught from the sea……

Now go closer to the statue and you will see this:

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BIG ARIZONA DRAGON FISH!

The reason why they keep these kind of big fish? For you to touch, of course. Here, they believed that touching the fish will bring luck which I think is almost similar to the temple in Perak where you can touch the wild boar instead of fish for luck. If you don’t believe, try stick out your hand and touch the fish like I do……
If you think that this fish is not big enough, there is always a bigger one but to reach to that fish in this temple you’ll have to pass through here… and also here…
And finally you will see this…bigger ones.

After ‘molesting’ the fish which leaves all the slime to my hand, we move on to the next stop where the place is famous for the bridge……they even name it “The Lover’s Bridge” or “情人桥” in Chinese. For me, I really can’t see why they name it that way……Anyway, I managed to grab some nice but poor lighting quality of scenery photos and some kepoh friends…
This last picture………now it make sense why they named this bridge. Look nice eh?

Finally, the sun finally sets and there comes the night. We stopped at one of the so called the best steamboat restaurant in Batu Pahat to fill our hungry empty stomach…
And guess what? horrible, terrible, and expensive…that’s all I can say. Or maybe like this lah…
Perhaps I will blog something about “the most horrible food and yet many people still lovin’ it” maybe that will bring more traffic to my blog………lol. (Just kidding)

Exactly last week, I went to Malaysian Argo Exposition Park Serdang to watch Formula Drift which is sort of like D1GP in Malaysia. The event held for 2 days –

The first day

Before setting my arse at the grandstand seats, I wander around the area where you can take picture…lots of it.

You can take picture with beautiful models…

Or even the beautiful models offer to pose with you…

One thing I hate drift in Asia is their cars…especially in Malaysia.
Why? Because the cars are very old and very seldom new sports/racing cars are put into drift competition. Those who went to Batu Pahat to watch drift which held annually will know that their cars……ahem.

Sad to say but it’s true. Very old and very crappy. I’ve once saw the car drifting and while the car was drifting, the exhaust pipe fell and another drifter’s car bumper fell off suddenly. Both of the car never had any contact and their drifting skills really need to be polished..

Okay, back to the Formula Drift again. The car they used in the competition were way more better and more powerful. Some car even tuned up to 500 horsepower and their car were really awesome.

Those were just the common cars which were used during the competition. Below pics were those famous cars and some were shocking……

The car which I standing next to is the our local here (I support him BTW), Tengku Djan’s AE86 but unfortunately he didn’t use the car. Instead, he use his 180SX for the competition. The right is MadMike’s vehicle he nicknamed Madbull RX-7 which uses 4 rotary and it is naturally aspired which generating a piercing sound of 500+ horsepower. At the bottom is….you won’t believe it. This is the Proton Waja. Yup, this car is built by the R3 and this car is driven by an Indonesian. BTW, this car drifts damn nice!! I only able to take this engine bay picture and couldn’t take the whole picture of the car as the car itself were like celebrity, surrounded by so many people, but I do have the poster………
The qualifying were the boring ones. Each car need to drift solo just in order to get points and the criteria to score is angle, speed, line and style. Those who score high points will be able to qualify in the Top 32 where this is the best part begin……

The second day

The tandem drift where the rivals go head to head, starting with the drivers who qualified at the Top 32 and then continues with Sweet 16, followed by Elite 8 and the final which the called it Final 4.

This is the final battle between Malaysia Prince of Drift (Tengku Djan) and Thailand’s Drift King (Kiki). Tengku Djan wins by the way…The best way to end the Malaysian Formula Drift :)

For myself, I got a nice cap added to my collection…lol The sad part is, all those caps that had collected went missing from my wardrobe…. :(

The average American eats 17.6 pounds of turkey per year, more than double the figure for 1970, according to the National Turkey Federation. 1. Turkeys Can Fly
Wild turkeys feed on the ground, which might explain the myth of their flightlessness. They can in fact soar for short bursts at up to 55 mph. But their tendency to stay on or near the ground contributed to successful hunting that brought the wild population of turkeys down to about 30,000 in the 1930s. There are now 7 million of them.

2. Dark Meat is Rare Because ...
Meat is muscle. And muscle is fed by blood. In the blood is myoglobin, which binds with oxygen and stores it in muscles for when it's needed. Myoglobin also makes meat dark. Muscles that are used most, like those in drumsticks (legs), have more myoglobin. Domestic turkeys are too fat to fly, so they don't use their breast muscles much, which is why breast meat is white. The breast of a wild turkey is entirely different, darker (and far tastier for those who are game).

3. Turkey Eggs Wouldn't Sell
Chickens are champion egg-producers. Turkeys, not so good. Turkey eggs are bigger, so their nests tie up coop space. And farmers have learned that they make more raising turkeys for meat rather than eggs. Oh, and some turkeys are protective of their eggs, making the gathering more challenging.

4. It's Not the Turkey That Makes You Sleepy
Turkey contains a natural chemical called tryptophan, which we need to build proteins for our bodies. Indeed, tryptophan is also related to the production of serotonin, which helps us sleep. But all meat has about the same amount of tryptophan. Cheddar cheese has a lot more. What really makes you sleepier after a Thanksgiving meal compared to other meals is eating too many carbohydrates, from potatoes to pies. Alcohol can contribute, too.

5. Dinosaurs Had Wishbones, Too
The wishbone, called a furcula, is the fusion of two collarbones at the sternum. It's where a bird’s flying muscles hook up. It's elastic and great for flapping. Turns out T. Rex and the Velociraptor had wishbones, too. While they didn't fly, this fairly recent discovery is one of the many bits of evidence that shows birds evolved from dinosaurs.

Sarah Hale probably never thought about any of this back in the mid-1800s. She just wanted the nation to celebrate a pious, patriotic holiday, said Wills, the Davidson College researcher. Hale used columns and stories in her magazine to portray Thanksgiving as a triumph of domesticity and rural simplicity over urban sophistication. She urged President Lincoln to create a single day on which all states would mark the holiday as a national event.

"The message is that the simple, pure, honest rural life, away from the temptations of the city, puts you in touch with true values," Wills said. "If we can just travel back to the old home place once a year we'll be protected from temptations and evil."

While some of that spirit might remain in the holiday, much indeed has changed about American culture in general and in how people view and partake in the holiday.

I used to think like this…
Having a relationship is a burden especially you are a guy. I always thought that being a good boyfriend you not only have to be more compromise to your beloved ones, being a committed person and also this – friendship and money.

Male chauvinism is always the cause behind these two things. Going out dating with your girlfriend and you will expect one thing – money spending. I don’t know why I would think like this but when you date with your girlfriend, you will treat her to the cinemas or having a romantic dinner with all the cash from your wallet flows out while your girlfriend’s money is still intact in her purse and you don’t want her to fork out her own money. What even worse is that after you spend all the money just for dating, then you realise that you are broke. Nothing to rely on except to borrow money from your friends or maybe find a part time job. But here’s a catch: you don’t want your girlfriend to realise that you are broke cause you afraid that she will look down on you or even worse – break up.

Beside that, spending your time with your girlfriend means that your friendship with your friends (guy/gal/whatever) will be getting soar. You will give your priorities to your girlfriend rather than to your friend – breaking the rules, arguing over a small matter with your best buddies even when you realise that your girlfriend had done something wrong and you started to launch cold war between you and your friends and finally without notice, you’ve turned yourself into an outcast. Every second that you think will be only worth when you were with your girlfriend and your friendship between yourself with your friends were meaningless and also worthless…

Then I realised that……
Having a relationship means to understand each other, to help and to share responsibilities. You can treat her for a romantic dinner and she can treat you to the cinema for movies. Good balance right?
If you notice that your girlfriend had done something wrong, you can apologise on behalf of her and a few cents worth of advise for her will be good enough. That wasn’t hard right?

Since entering University, I’ve seen a lots of on and off relationship. Some managed to find their Mr/Ms Right within a week while some still take a whole long year. Time is not everything. Of course, finding your Ms. Right too is not easy. Beauty is only skin deep. Why care so much about the beauty when you know that the girl you love is nothing more than a gold digger or a childish playful girl?
Personality of girl is the crucial one. Why? because you are committed to be with this girl for the rest of your life. Relationship is not some sort of a symbol status or make yourself proud and it doesn’t at all cause this makes you look very stupid.

As far as I concern, I’m a realistic guy. Personality comes first while beauty second. Bear in mind that pretty girls are to be admired but good girl is to be wife. This is a very straight forward adage and you don’t need to think hard about this adage. When looking for a relationship, try to be mature minded instead. You don’t wanna put yourself in trouble with an immature boyfriend/girlfriend. If you are desperate for a relationship. think twice instead before you really got yourself into one.

When some of my friend ask me “Why you don’t have a girlfriend yet?'” My reply is simple, I’m too immature to have a relationship. Even I already found the one that I love, I will never have a relationship with her because I don’t want her to suffer as the consequences of who I am and what I am. I rather see her live happily with some one she can really rely on and have a better future……

The reason I post this is because one of my friend’s housemate. He told me that his housemate brought his girlfriend back to their rental home watching movies together with the loud speaker disturbing him study and also getting connected to the internet when his housemate’s girlfriend were streaming and downloading causing a disruption where the housemate himself set the rules for downloading and streaming but he did not follow the rules he make when his girlfriend were there. Besides, his housemates were totally broke when he keep on asking to borrow money from friends just to make his girlfriend happy…………………

Mooncake festival in Parit Raja

At first, I thought that Mooncake Festival is over……Far from over that is.

Went to Summit Batu Pahat today and saw a lot of activities and one major event will be the “Summit Idol'” where, of course, is nothing more than a singing competition. But, here’s the main attraction……

Only 1 judge which I considered as a crowd puller……
And it’s none other than the true blood Johorean rapper, Wong Meng Chee himself!!

Even I also got distracted when the emcees announced his name as the third judge in this singing competition. Since I’m not a big fan of Mandarin/Chinese music, we left that crowded area to some place else……

After walking around loitering the shopping complex, I enter this computer store while the friends went to the next shop shopping for clothes and then I stumbled upon this: EPIC FAIL!!!

Anyway, I enter the store and I finally found what I’m looking for all the time…… For RM39, this laser mouse is worth every cent. I looked around Parit Raja and even in Klang, most of the PC store sell this mouse for mere RM55 which is considered ‘cheapest’ price whereas some store even sold more than RM70 for this laser mouse. Places like Low Yat and Digital Mall, I really have no idea how much they sell……

Well, on the way back to Parit Raja, we stop by at BP Mall for, loitering again. Went there to take a look at the new stores like Big Apple Donut and the new Sony center where we got our chances to look at the new PS3……
Of course, in conjunction with the Mooncake Festival, the shopping complex too have some few events like dancing……
Young and old, really not an obstacle to them though…

More activities still to come at night especially in Parit Raja when the Chinese Association of Parit Raja (if I’m not mistaken) organize an event just for the Mooncake Festival. By the way, UTHM Tiong Hua got give a helping hand too……

Since I or any of us (except Ah Yang) did not get involved in this activity, we just stand there enjoy the performance while the whole hall were filled with people coming all over from Parit Raja.

How to spent 50 bucks in Johor Bahru (LOL)

Going to Teledynamics at Johor Bahru using the Google Maps was pain in the ass. I just came back from there with Desmond as his Toshiba laptop were having problems even after sending the laptop for repair in Glenmarie about last month.

Reach J.B, me and Desmond got lost about 3 times and we have to make a U-Turn…not a small U-Turn but a BIG one instead. Anyway, we reached our destination with a big relieve. After finished ‘visiting’ to the office, we started to look for food. Again, we got lost and when we finally found the way out to town, we stop by at Plaza Pelangi…

At first, Desmond wanna to eat at Nando’s but when we explore around, we stumble upon this restaurant…Stonegrill. The meals were actually like this: rather than the conventional prepared meal where the chef/cook cooks for you, instead, they used granite stones which they heat up and the meat will be on top of the stone where the heat of the stone will cook the meat…sounds unique eh??

Here, I’ve ordered the most expensive one…
I don’t know how to consider the worthiness of it but since this is the first time visiting this restaurant, I ordered this meat – ostrich. As you can see, the big black square thingy is actually the heated stones that I’ve mentioned just now…

And here is what Desmond had ordered… Juicy New Zealand lamb with prawns (which I suspect the lamb is local ones, not from New Zealand…lol)

Now for the payment…

When a good trip turns pathetic

Many of my course mates will expect me to blog this post about the trip that we’ve visited recently which is located in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bharu. Yup, a power station. This trip is actually an assignment trip for our Thermodynamics II where our lecturer had told us from the very first time he entered the class.

Here’s the thing…
Previously, during the last semester, we tried to organised a trip to Proton City in Tanjung Malim but cancelled in the end due to the limitations set by the Proton which states that only a limited persons per-university are able to enter. We were late that time because there were other section from our uni has managed to get their seats in the bus to Proton City.

So, this very semester has become a good stepping stone for us to continue our abandoned trip and of course, this will make us even more easier as all the paper work and documents are readily to be submitted but there’s a hitch…
Thermodynamics right? Any major thermo involves in the Proton factory? Many people will say the engine combustion are involve with thermodynamics but that is just the part of it. Our lecturer told us that the most suitable for the trip is to visit a power plant factory. Conclusion? Proton City trip is abandoned again…

YTL power plant are actually weren’t our main choice. When we set up a small committee to run the trip, I was assigned to be an ‘informer’ by calling to the company asking permission to visit to their power plant.

Here’s the one thing that I don’t like…
If you are not the part of the committee member, KEEP QUIET
And when you are given a chance to voice out your opinion, OPEN YOUR DAMN MOUTH
It wasn’t so hard right? Nabeh…
Anyway, I got pissed off and I choose my own destination instead of listening to them as I’ve already done my research on the power plant tour and I never told them at all…

In the end, the trip was a success. We can take picture throughout the power plant and instead of many companies who only giving PowerPoint slides and never take visitors to their plant for a tour or even banned them from taking picture. We have it all in this Power Plant.

For those who don’t know, this power plant is actually a gas and steam power plant with the efficiency of more than 90%. Yes, the power plant itself is actually a big concept of thermodynamics where the heat transfer and all those bla bla stuff that we’ve studied since Form6 and Thermodynamics in your compulsory engineering subjects is all about.

Like any other places, we were first giving some intro about the Power Plant via PowerPoint slides and end with a Q&A session. Without any time wastage, we straight away went to the first place which is the Gas Turbine…

This is the gas turbine, 2 actually. Gas supplied from Petronas and injected in to this turbine to generate electricity. We actually can see the gas burning by looking right below the yellow – black stripes. Did I mention that the place here is damn noisy?

Then once we exit from the gas turbine room, we saw a complex systems of piping where steam and water travel from the gas turbine and being channel to other places

The left picture is actually the boiler located high above those piping and the right picture is the overall boiler where you can see how big and complex is the system…

Of course, this never let us down of taking some memorabilia……

And of course when there’s a steam involved, the will be water. We were taken to the large water pump which pumps the seawater to cool down the temperature and chlorination chamber to kill living things that will destroy the machinery. The place was damn hot and pump room can even turn into a perfect sauna room.

Inside the pump room where there are two giant pumps pumping the seawater. The heat released from these pumps are really hot and many of us can even stand there for a mere 10 minutes…

Then we went to the steam power plant room where we were greeted by a gigantic condenser. The red wall is actually a condenser and this condenser directly leads to the steam turbine to generate electricity.

The steam turbine is the white cylinder looking where the electricity is generated and that summarizes our trip of the day with a nice group photo along with our tour guide, Eng. Nordin…
Returning back to University is like pain in the ass. According to the trip, we should return to uni soon after the trip but there were a few who wanted to go to other places which the bus driver directly turned down on us and left us nowhere to visit then. However, somebody suggest that we should pay a visit to the kite museum where upon the arrival, the museum is closed for lunch (it’s Ramadan, why close for lunch?). The non-Muslim never really get their lunch and when I voiced out to go to the petrol station which has 2 fast food restaurant – Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts, I got slammed by them.

In the end, we still end up stopping at that petrol station……
Who’s to blame now huh!!?

The first song I've ever listen is 'Lemon tree' from Fool's Garden. At that time, I was only a little kid, say, about 8 or 9 years old. From that on, I started to love music every day since.......

Although I have a crappy voice,

Getting my first laptop, I managed to installed some media players with built-in lyrics. The very first song that I had in my laptop is forever my all time favourite songs - "Nobody knows it but me" from Babyface. After listening that song over and over again like a broken record player, I finally learnt how to understand the meaning of the song and this really making me to hit the reset button in my head and learn how to enjoy music all over again.

Honestly, a great music is timeless and never ages. Then, for the second time when I watch the current season of the American Idol, I heard this song sang by Adam Lambert and Kris Allen - "No boundaries" which is co-written by the new fourth judge.

I just fell in love with that song and this song is really meaningful - can't describe in words...honestly. hehe~

Test week was really annoying especially when the scheduled test were postponed due to this and that matter. Straight to the point - having test all at once is stressful and killing us softly. Well, weekend of course sure hanging out with friends and before the Independence Day, we decided to went Batu Pahat Mall as our destination to loiter around....

Watch the Disney Pixar's UP, very nice plot and a good message there. Quite a faithful old man, Mr. Fredickson who trying to fulfill his promises to his late wife, Ellie and later found out that what she hopes for is really to be happily with her love ones and enjoy every minutes that they have.....something like that.

Finish watching, I went to All IT Hypermart to look for a replacement for my sad - sad rosak mouse which was originally came with the laptop that I've bought.

Now my mouse are finally put into rest and the new one will be replacing it but when I check out the price in that shop, it was erm.....put me on hold to purchase a new mouse.

Wandering around the mall, then we saw drum performance which was in conjunction with Ramadan celebration....1 Malaysia concept konon

But there were also some kompang playing performance also la...but no where to be seen because of the big crowd....

Also there were some unique 'performance' done by the promoter to attract customers but we end up attracted to record them instead....really a big crowd puller indeed.

That were past tense. Today on 31st of August 2009 the residents of Taman Waja in Parit Raja, Batu Pahat wake up to smell the taste of Merdeka....

Everytime when there’s a holiday, I will be practically occupied myself with lots of trouble…
It’s not my fault to get myself into this kind of busy situation but since I’m already at home, my family will fully taking advantage of someone being at home to help them to do this and that.

Anyway, some nice things that I’ve encountered during my these one and a half week holidays…

Since I love car so much…
This is the first time I saw this car although I don’t know the name of this car but someone told me it’s a Nissan…
This car is the combination of a sports designed to look retro. Since I’m into retro styling, it’s no wonder I’m attracted to this car.

When I drop by at my uncle’s house, his dog has all grown up.Cute leh? hehe~
Her name is Coco and my cousin brother bought it few months ago. This dog is Siberian Husky if I’m not mistaken and it’s only 5 months old. The reason I had to take this picture when Coco was in the cage is because she was afraid of me…
I don’t know why but everytime I tried to play with her, she will run away……

At home, my father told me that a few door frame was terribly infested by termites and by taking of the advantage of me being at home, my father call contractor to replace all the door frames – all five of them The finish product

Despite all the five door frame that required to be change, the contractor single handed complete it within three days. Quite impressive…

Here’s why I need to help out when I return back to Klang. My mom suffered back pain and I need to accompany her to the nearby hospital for a check up and get some medication. Another things is that my grandaunt from Kapar had passed away after she struggling with liver cancer…I’m not going to put into detail in this.

I apologise to my lab mates who are rushing to get their report done since I’m the only one who finish the report earlier and I can’t online whenever I get home since I do not have internet connection……

This semester…
Among of all the semester that I’ve ever been through, this is the worst semester and the nightmare just started. I can’t even imagine what will happen to the next semester if it continues like that. All I can say is perhaps this is another challenge for the third year students in this mechanical division students to pull themselves throughout the challenges.

Not only that…
Apart from the lectures/academics, even the house that I stayed also adding challenges to me. Poor communications with the housemates among each other should be blame on this I supposed…
The agent came to collect rent, utility bills arrive and except for the Internet bills, all I can say is that quite a large amount of money gone just like that…

My room is mosquito magnet. Sharp at 7.15 p.m, they came, they saw, and they suck my blood. I’m pretty worried when I heard someone in my neighbourhood has caught dengue.
At first, I was thinking of buying a mosquito net to seal the whole window to prevent the mosquito entering my room and another solution is to buy an electric mosquito repellent. Anyway, I choose the mosquito repellent and guess what, I’ve gotta do some home improvement to make that crappy mosquito repellent work.

I got my extension and use masking tape to tape the whole extension to the wall of Desmond’s table so that the mosquito repellent can stand vertically. That taping was working at first but then, the weight start to pull the taping off from the table and almost drop…what a home improvement. Anyway, I gotta fix that by tomorrow or I will be practically wasting my money on that stupid repellent……

Something happened in the campus lately…
My Fluid lecturer are one of the pioneer who involved in the new course which are considered to be the first in Asia.
That course will be Aircraft Maintenance course and the students will obtain a Pilot Licence. Yup, that’s right, a pilot licence. The course will be around RM200k and only 25 chosen students will be able to take this program every year.
Since the program will actually be started the next semester, our campus has improvise something that will make everyone notice……

A model airplane that is…
Best thing about this course? UTHM will have a 3km runway with a control tower and also two hangar to keep those 2-seater and 4-seater airplane. Kudos to my this unknown university…

However, there are still competition…
Just because of one stupid name and they are fighting for it…

Let’s face it…
Streamyx with 1Mbps only available in the whole Johore region while the 2 and 4Mbps are totally out of the question……
Not to mention that the Streamyx is also the Slowmyx……

But…
Being slow sometimes can’t blame the Internet Service Provider at all…
I know most of you all have the difficulties of getting online and when you call the Streamyx for assist, all they can say is that the server which is located in Johore are currently undergoing maintenance and bla bla bla…

The usual suspects…
I can only able to log on to MSN messenger, download torrents, PPStream, Garena but I can’t surf the web. How come?

Let me give you a few cents of unworthy words…whether you like it or not

If you think that reading PC peripherals magazines alone can make you turn into a PC experts, PLEASE DON’T
Diagnosing your friend’s laptop/PC by just listening to what a PC illiterate(owner) says doesn’t mean that you knows what happening to his/her laptop/PC.

If you have some sort of theory to diagnose the laptop/pc, PLEASE USE YOUR BRAIN AND DON’T SIMPLY PUT AN ASSUMPTION TO IT

If you got no confidence in repairing your friend’s laptop/pc although they call you as their SIFU/PC GURU, DON’T PUT YOUR HANDS ON THEIR HARDWARE

If you are very PRO in computer hardware, that doesn’t mean you are good at using software. PRO in hardware + NOOB in software = IDIOTS

If you think your mouth is made out of GOLD and you can’t open it to ask for assist just because you think you still a PRO, YOU ARE MAKING ME THINKING OF YOU AS AN IDIOT with the word DUH

If people started to ask for your opinion about this and that, PLEASE DON’T reply with an argument or debate because YOU ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT

If you trying to ‘bomb’ people with your hardware benchmarking knowledge and sarcastically condemn your friend for not buying this hardware/software instead of that, PLEASE I BEG YOU THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE WHO ARE PRO THAN YOU

Saturday life

These few days were kinda good when compared to Klang where the insane amount of dirty polluted air and heat that usually turns my room into a perfect sauna room. Unlike Parit Raja, the place here is usually quiet neighbourhood with nice, cool weather – pretty much like staying in the jungle since these place is still underdeveloped.

This morning I was supposed to help Desmond’s laptop as his laptop was pretty much totalled and he lost his recovery cd but I couldn’t help because I can’t do much at this point but to reinstall a new OS. Anyway, as usual I pull the curtain and open the window to let the fresh air in and the I saw somebody getting off from his car and started to scavenge the trash that we’ve throw in front of our compound…

That guy in the picture breaks the trash bag and look for valuable items like cardboards and aluminium cans and move from one house to another. How pathetic that guy and he is even worse than those street dogs scavenging for food. Oh ya, did I mentioned that he drives a brand new Proton Persona?

Today was quite chilly and windy – really turning me down on the bed just to do nothing but to sleep which I almost forgot that I haven’t take my brunch yet. Luckily, Alex and his housemate were out to lunch and ‘ta pau’ for me which I manage to prevent myself from another starvation…

Dinner was kinda great today, our chef of the day – Justin invite us to his house (just opposite of my house) for a ‘Chick Kut Teh’ (pork were sort of scarce here). The whole house was filled with the smell of the ready make Bak Kut Teh ingredient which is cooked along with the chicken instead of pork. Actually it really taste quite delicious. The whole pot was emptied within 10 minutes and we are still hungry……

Since the Chick Kut Teh really cannot satisfy my hunger, I asked them whether they wanna go out for mamak and the said YES! but with one condition……

DotA first then only mamak…
Since I’m a noob in this game, we already lose 2 out of 3 games and before the game starts, I’ve already sign them with ‘MoU’ so they won’t scold me for the lost….

Finally, we hang out at the mamak with one glass of teh tarik and to roti telur…….

Is love = game?

When I saw Wei Kuo’s Facebook statement that quotes “Love is not a Game... when it's a Game, it's not Love...”, many of his friends commented – some are obviously crap (like my comment to his) and while others were really put serious thought on that matter.

In between love and game, it is just another double-edged sword to me. At first, you portray yourself as a player whom try to find an opposite sex partner which either suits you or doesn’t. Still being an immature person, you try to grab some stupid attention or secretive and at that time you still don’t even know the meaning of the word ‘commitment’. When your partner ask you to do this and that, you will stupidly or insanely do it cause you afraid you might make him/her upset not knowing that you were being played as a tool of some sort and I believe this will happen to me too.

As your ‘game’ level taken to a new height, you will start to involve more money and dignity; worse – change of feeling. Of course this is mostly applies to those immature couples or those who don’t even know what are they doing…obviously. After you were distance away, say studying at different places and all you can communicate is through Internet, phone or even better – come afar just to visit you in your study place but can you resist the temptation of not being together for a period of time? I know each should have space of their own but can loneliness be cured like kissing through the phone? Friends of mine a few suffered breakups because of this……

In the end, when your relationship started to assert pressure on your daily life and you can’t take it, GAME OVER dude. After you recover from your ‘injuries’ although your skill level has gone up, you will start to his the ‘reset’ button in your mind and started to turn over a new leaf and the process goes all over again. Immature pals, things will be more easy, since your feeling are not that deep toward to your ex, you will find another one in no time……am I right or just plain wrong (I mean in this case)?

Actually I never thought of this phrase ‘love is just a game’ until when I listen to Michelle Branch’s game of love title. Still, when you think thoroughly and carefully, then you will realise who,how, and why he/she is your perfect choice. To me, it is the most sustainable relationships which last till marriage and I believe this is the most many people wanted to be committed into.

Pretty girls are to be admired and good girls are to be lifetime soulmate partner. No doubt about that though. To me, of course I am more to ‘love is not a game’ side but based on what I’ve seen and heard, the double edged sword is more realistic to me……

High School Klang Teachers…

My brother’s girlfriend whom is also his junior, were having a fine steamboat dinner at Boon Hua today together with my family. When I ask her about the preparations as she is about to leave Klang for UUM (Universiti Utara Malaysia), she said that her stuff is almost done except for a little stuffs at school which are quite difficult to handle…

“What so difficult about getting your photocopied certificates and IC being certified by teachers?” I asked. “No, the problem is that each of us have to pay RM50 to the ‘Guru Bidang’ and only to the teachers so that my certs can be certified” she said.

Yes folks, each of the Form 6 students will have to fork out RM50 to get their photocopied SPM, STPM, ICs, birth certs and all those necessary items to get stamped and approved by the ‘Guru Bidang’. I asked her why she didn’t find the Principal or the First Assistant/Second Assistant to get it chop and signed? She told me that they don’t want to sign and it is not their job (is Guru Bidang’s job)

WTF is High School Klang’s teachers doing?! These students have only a week for them to settle all the procedure before moving to their Universities to further their education and THIS IS THE WAY OF HSK TEACHERS TREATS THEIR STUDENTS?? To make the matter even worse, those who are in the art stream students must look for the so called ‘art-streamed guru bidang’ while the same thing goes for the science students with their respective teachers.

This is no good for everyone. Nobody dares to file a complain to the higher authorities as these students were scared that the school will take action against them. HSK is one of the best schools in Klang to produce bright and brilliant students. Honestly, no matter how bad the school is, I still love this school and me with my two younger brothers are the second generation to enter this school.

If one day…I mean just one day to return to school and teachers asking me for a donations- I’ll do it and if there’s a canteen day coming up, I’ll help the teachers to buy their coupons. I do this just to support the school and another reason is that they have the prove/state government approval to show us that they need financial support (such as jogathon/bacathon or such)

But RM50 just to get your photocopied slips stamped and approved? That’s just too much……

Saturday’s mistakes…

This kind of mistakes shouldn’t happened to me and yet it still stuck with me. This stupid mistakes starting from morning till night…

Today I was going to meet Wei Lun at Low Yat to give him some little consultation on some computer hardware (which is basically I don’t) since his trusty laptop’s DVD drive rosak. As usual, every time I went to KL will usually commute via train and from the first stupid step I land my foot in the station queuing to buy tickets to KL Sentral, a lady approached me and said “I heard from the counter you are buying tickets to KL Sentral. Since you are going to the same destination and I’m not familiar, I might just follow you…”
Wah lau eh, she then follows me and had a few conversations which I just simply replied either ‘yes’ or ‘no’. That is turning her into making more conversations and I’ve got no choice but to talk to her. Luckily, I saw Kean Beng who happens to be waiting on the same train as I do and I quickly call him over so that I can ignore her. I’m saved at the moment…

Happy doesn’t last that long. I was in my way looking for empty seats and then I saw 1 which I had to sit next to a Malay old man. At first I thought everything will be fine, smooth and silent ride then……I felt like I was dancing with the ‘God of the Bad Luck’. I don’t know whether this old man was having some problems or what. He told me that he was the grandson of the late Sultan of Selangor – the fourth to be precise. He even showed me his name card which is yellow in colour and bear the Selangor logo with the title some sort like ‘raja empat’ something something…can’t remember. He then told me about the past as the former High School Klang boys and telling me stories about the stories that happened in the royal family. The worst thing here is…… I’m the idiot who listens all his stories, had a good polite conversation and even shook hands with him after he got off the train………I really don’t know what happened to me

Then I got off the train, head to another train which leads me to Low Yat and had my lunch there with Wei Lun and his friend, Ah Siang. Another mistakes happened here. I’ve ordered the wrong noodle and that bowl of noodle is very ‘empty’. A few picks from the chopsticks and the whole noodle gone……

Finished lunch, we went through all the whole plaza and saw my another friend, Chin Way who happens to be accompanying his friends and hanging around. Throughout that time, nothing bad was fall on me as Wei Lun has all the stuffs he needs to buy which then concludes my today’s trip with him as I need to rush back home before 6p.m. On my way to the monorail, some con artist ( I supposed) approached me and tell me to take this some sort of lucky draw papers and it happens to be I’m the winner in that particular category. The lady (con artist) congratulate me over and over again which makes me looks suspicious cause I never been lucky in this kind of contest and I usually lucky when it comes to playing Cho Dai Di or being myself able have a nice conversation with the big people which I’m supposed that you all no need to know about it……

That lady has really delaying my time a lot. During my encounter with her, I’ve already missed 3-4 trains and then some hell break loose when the lady’s colleagues ran away as they were being chased by the authorities. I was afraid too at that time cause I thought that I will be needed to give statements or interviewed by the authorities and it will giving me hard time to answer their questions……

Finally, I got back to my KTM and safely arrived back to Klang. Right after reached home, my uncle from KL called my mom that they already reach Klang and call us for a dinner. Everything was fine until the time when I ask them whether they want to go for a Sunday Bak Kut Teh, all of them agreed. At home, my dad told me that he was going to take us to Pasir Penampang for seafood tomorrow……ouch.

I really screw up big time today…
I never talked to strangers or even looked at them but today is totally opposite.
I’ve should ordered a better noodle but I don’t know why I order a lousy noodle.
I knew it’s a scam all the time but I give my way in.
Seafood vs. Bak Kut Teh? Of course seafood! but why my mouth says Bak Kut Teh that easily wor……

By the time I type this post, Desmond ask me to go to watch Japan GT race with him tomorrow at Sepang which I can’t cause I’m stuck with my stupid Sunday Bak Kut Teh with my whole family……… :’(

After I finished my Form 5, I was working to collect money to pay for my tuition fees and little funds for my upcoming Form 6 intake.

During that time, when I saw some hot chicks getting their vehicles serviced(the place I work - workshop) or accompany their hubbys/boyfriends. I even saw some working ladies a.k.a miss workaholic independent who look gorgeous and elegant sending her own vehicle for service.

Then, I realize something there and created a theory of my own. Here’s how:

During Form 3 – you need to concentrate your studies for PMR, relationships aside…
Form 4 and Form 5 – need to put 100% effort to studies so that after score well in SPM, can apply JPA scholarship and study overseas (everyone’s dream). Relationships aside…
After SPM – Need to work, wanna get car licence, need to look out for college intakes or Form 6 intakes. Relationships can ‘start’ here actually…
Form 6/diploma – must get CGPA 4.0 in STPM to enter ‘good local uni’. Must study like hell, relationships aside…(college studs, you are on your own..lol)
In University – Assignments, tests, exams, projects, presentation, must get dean list, must get good CGPA in order to get a better job, relationships aside (actually, it’s more to a come-n-go thing)
Finally you are working – need to support family, buy dream car, stress from work, boss look ‘high’ upon me, gotta naik pangkat first, and etc. Wait, how old am I now??

This is why there are so many guys/gals now still unable to get their Mr/Ms. Right cause they are TOO FOCUS on achieve things especially in academics and career. No doubt about that I must say…
For me, the best to get a relationship is to find it a gal during Form 6 years or Form 5 based on your own judgement…I would say. He he~

I actually was warned by my parents with their beautiful ~~demonic~~ angelic voice saying
“Relationship can find anytime, go study and don’t play the fool”

I guai guai listen to them as they repeat that word every year and finally one day……
"Why until now you are still alone!? So hard to find a matching gal ah??”

Why I don’t like supplements…

I am very stubborn especially when it comes to swallowing tablets or pills – doesn’t matter if it is a supplementary pills or medication pills. I do take supplements but not in regular basis. Why? This is because my dad force me into taking those supplements with the same old excuses “It’s good for your body”. I do argue ~~many times~~ with him but it seems like he’s the winner no matter how I cover my own ass.

Then, there goes to my friend’s involvement in multi-levelled marketing which offers quite good and high quality supplements (nabeh, their products actually are that damn good) but no matter how I reject their offer or choose not to listen to them, the persuasion is still there for the demand of these supplements.

Finally, with my power of little addiction of the internet (lol), I stumbled upon these articles:

Americans are spending $23 billion a year on dietary supplements, and the National Institutes of Health thinks that might be about $22.99 billion too much. In its long awaited final statement on multivitamin and mineral supplements, released in August, the NIH claims there's no convincing evidence to support the claim that taking supplements is a good idea for the general population.

Worse, the overdose of nutrition might have negative effects.

This might sound like bad news for the dietary supplement industry and its legion of naive, pill-popping devotees, which includes more than half of American adults along with myself, a daily multivitamin junkie.

Yet the NIH left some wiggle room. The final statement also stated that not enough is known to make a final statement. If that sounds confusing, welcome to the world of dietary supplements, where enough studies have been performed at this point to support any stance you want.

Lucky my house didn’t kena

My house – Taman Bayu Perdana, especially around my house is famous for the idiotic motorist who loves to see their cars being destroyed by others due to their irresponsible parking (which is one of my favourite to see them caught in accident) because of rushing to the bank, people quarrel which almost similar to watching TVB drama but I watch it live instead, myself being almost got knock down by a car once when I walk across the cross junction, snatch theft, dog barking symphony, not to mention those ambulance (from Arunamari Hospital) which sirens half-way and then suddenly no sounds, annoyance from the car’s accessories shop with its workers, horny people who loves to horn their vehicles for nothing (cause they will langgar each other anyway).

But tonight, there’s a new sound appears which is quite new to this neighbourhood – fire truck. Half an hour before when I was typing posting this blog, a shop located 4-5 blocks right behind my house caught fire. At first I thought it was some idiots partying in their car behind the alley until my brother knock my door and tell me there is a fire broke out right behind our house and the fire truck parked just behind.

From this picture, the fireman (in orange) is standing directly behind the shop (on the left. Notice the darkest door/gate) where it happens. At the time I took this picture, the fire has already been put off and all left is just smoke. On the right is those concern-worried-sick neighbours looking……

Actually this kind of ‘shop caught fire’ happened before, which is my old house located next to High School Klang and that fire is way bigger than this. That shop is actually a furniture shop – so called the biggest in Klang got burnt last year which is at that time I was spend all of my 2 month holiday taking care of my grandpa in hospital. Luckily, my old house did not damage from the fire.

I guess this fire is started mainly because of short circuit or etc, etc, etc. These days, many people are becoming ‘smarter’ in terms of safety and guess what, the result really gives a good answer indeed.

I’m worry about my family,
When will the ‘noises’ stop?
When will the frustrations stop?
When will the ego and conflict stop?

I’m worry about myself,
Have I put everyone beside me a priority?
Have I been a responsible person?
Most importantly, have I changed?

I’ve been worried all the time. These feelings has been permanently tattooed in my mind. Life is just like walking on the frozen lake. Each steps you take makes you worried on how the next step will be.

During my usual Sunday Bak Kut Teh in the morning, my mom told me that later we will having a lunch at Grandpa’s house together with my uncles and their children. Gosh, I was on my second plate of rice while sipping the soup and I was saying “I thought it was for dinner. I can’t stuff anymore food into my stomach for this lunch. Later it will be embarrassing in front of everyone…”
Well, arrive at Grandpa’s house and everyone is grabbing their seats with their chopsticks ready. Me and my 2 bros went back to kitchen and reduce our rice. That’s is when one of my uncle ask us “three of you on diet is it?? Why so few rice?” I don’t dare to answer but just keep quiet and luckily my dad came to the rescue. Finish eating, and I took a rest on the rattan chair while watching Top Gear. Sitting next to me is my grandma giving some wise words to me and told me not to overslept or else my soul will drift away….
I really have a bad temper when come to people annoy me especially those kids who likes to menacing around. But when I saw my little cousin sister running and chasing each other with her younger brother around the house, I felt weird- I never felt mad or angry or even wanna yell at them too.

This is because when I see them running around the house, they reminds me during my childhood time. Haha, at that time when I was staying at the old house which is damn small (I used to stay at nearby High School Klang just across the street…Jalan Raja Bot if I’m not mistaken. The road has the name changed btw…). I must say I am way much worst then my cousins way back then. Got scold from everyone in the house and even ate the sweetest rotan from my mom and yet we still can jump here jump there around the house. I even played badminton in the living room!
Since we moved to Taman Bayu Perdana, everything started to change. Perhaps we learn something about responsibility to keep the house in harmony and reduce my mom’s workload when my dad at that time only come back to Klang about once a week due to his work in Bata. At that time as well, I’m already 11 yrs old and instead of running around the house, I worked around the house – mop the floor, clean the windows, cook rice, prepare ingredients for my mom to cook, bla bla bla…

We never have the chance of playing toys like digimon, gameboy, or gundam which at that time was a craze. All the money we get is to keep and save. Until now, I’m still doing it and when comes to buying stuffs I will think more than twice before I do any decision.
Looking at my cousin really reminds me of my childhood days. People say “spare the rod, spoil the child” but when you try to rewind it back to your old days, you will feel that you are just like the way the children doing now. That is when I understand why my dad and my other uncles never look angry at my little cousins…. :)

Travel back into time

I found this while I was looking for interesting articles to read. Quite funny though...

So, you're in love with one of your friends, but she has a boyfriend and probably wouldn't have sex with you anyway.

What you will need: 1 x knife, 1 x ring, access to a sunbed, the ability to grow a beard.

Step One: Place the ring on your wedding finger and avoid contact with your friend for a month.

Step Two: Stop shaving and use the sunbed to gain a tan.

Step Three: After a month when your beard is full and your tan is noticeable, remove the ring from your finger.

Step Four: Remove all your clothes and break into your friend's house.

Step Five: Use the knife to cut your body in various places. Avoid the face. If possible, focus on your back. The more blood the better.

Step Six: Enter your friend's bedroom and lie face down on the floor. Wait for her return.

Step Seven: When she enters the room pretend to be unconscious. Allow her to turn you over and try to wake you for a few seconds before you open your eyes. The injuries to your body will serve as a distraction to your nakedness. She will be more concerned about your wellbeing instead of fearing the naked man in her room.

Step Ten: If your friend is a curious person she will probably ask 'What worked?', even if she doesn't ask this question it is important that you now say the words '(Insert Friend's Name), I'm from the future' in your most deadpan voice.

Step Eleven: Pause for ten seconds to allow the incrediblness of the situation to sink in. There will be no reason for her to doubt your claim, because your beard will make you appear many years older and your cuts would add weight to the idea that you've come from a post-apocalyptic future where a war is currently taking place.

Step Twelve: Raise your left hand to your face. All women are very observant, so your friend will immediately notice the tanline on your wedding finger. If she is educated to a decent standard she will realise that you are married and your ring has simply disappeared, because clothing and other items cannot travel through time. Your nudity will support this.

Step Thirteen: Now comes the hard part - The monologue. In your own words you must give a speech in which you mention all of these key points:

a) You are married to each other in the future
b) Her current boyfriend is dead
c) The world is coming to an end. It's up to you to pick a reason, but I would recommend a war against machines. This whole situation will be backed up by the Terminator franchise

e) You've come back in time because you can't help but feel that she would have been happier with her current boyfriend if he hadn't been killed
f) Her current boyfriend is going to be hit by a bus on a day six months from her present. She should stop him going to work that day
g) If she does exactly what you say this current version of yourself will be erased and you will never get married. If she questions this flaw in your time travel logic, because you cannot change the past, simply reference Back to the Future

Step Fourteen: Unless your friend is made of stone she will now be overcome by emotion, especially at your selflessness. Get to your feet and go to kiss her goodbye. It is important that you do this with the confidence of a man who has done this to her many times.

Step Fifteen: There is now no possible way that you aren't about to have sex with her. You're naked, kissing her, in her bedroom, agreeing to erase a version of yourself from history to make her happy. Business and friends just don’t mix

I still recall this during last semester break when I was at home. This friend of mine, he keep on contacting me all the time and even ask me out for a tea. Usually, he didn’t do that kind of things even though we stay around the same area. So one evening, he was asking me whether I like Japan or not and he want to to meet me at night for some outing and I was like “sure, why not?”

So, I entered his car and saw 2 female in the car along and another one is my other friend’s brother. It was dark at that time and I really can’t see their faces until when all of us get off from the car. Only then I’ve realised that the two females where his mom and his younger sister. At first I thought that this was the usual gathering for the old boys and classmates reunion as he usually sets up this kind of of occasion. But then, this time I felt something fishy going on.

Finally, they took me to this place…the place where the direct sales people gathered to retrieve info on the upcoming items and updating their progress. Later, his elder brother came forward to me and greet me with the first handshake and the word “how far do you know about this…” and I just kept quite all the time, feeling angry and felt cheated or maybe I should have blame myself – why I trust so much to my old good friends.

Being a direct sales agent is very cunning. I know that many people are fall for them as they were only told by how lucrative and how fast the payback modal is. To me, I really don’t care much about this thing. I know many youngsters like us earn a lots of money by doing direct sales and some even purposely drop out from their schools or universities just to put 100% focus on his sales.

Ok. During that night, they’ve invited 2 guest speaker whom both of them are from the same member. The first speaker told us about the trip to Japan (as mentioned earlier) after he achieve the target sales provided by the company. The second guest speaker told us why he joined this direct sales company how he could managed to drive a BMW 5series with all those sales. All the sales agent where listening with full of enthusiasm (that includes my friend) and everyone is worshipping them except me.

I felt very odd. The first speaker summaries about his trip to Japan, big deal. The second speaker he himself is actually a boss and owns a company in real estate properties graduated from Australia and now in his mid 40s. Why so many people admire him because of him driving a Beemer?? The whole situation just turned into a kindergarten in a blink of an eye. At that time, I felt myself stupid – very stupid indeed and also very childish. I really pissed off that time and I was going to scold my friend but in the end I still remain quiet.

Once the gathering is over, they went for a supper and of course I follow with them since I didn’t took my dinner. This is where the ‘brain washing’ process started. After some of the sales agent realise that I wasn’t one of them, they approached me with a friendly manner and start talking bout the benefit of starting a business through this direct sales. Of course, I start to rebut them with “I’m not interested in doing business like that or maybe someday I will”. One by one, they heard this word from me and then they take a different approach. They told me why there’s a Datuk whom owns a big company and listed on the market share enter this direct sales field, a bright student purposely dropout from the college just to focus on this field and finally the last question that obviously make myself look stupid; “given a veggie seeds and a plantation tree seeds, which seeds will to take and grow it?”

Those three question I knew how to bombard them but instead of bombard them, I still quiet and enjoy my food. If you wanna know how I want to bombard them, these are my words:

A Datuk enters this field because being a multi-levelled marketing of this direct sales, he knows that in order the business partner to please the himself, every business partners that he deals with will enter the direct sales so that the counterparts will have a smoother business transaction with the Datuk. To them entering the direct sales is just a small price to pay compare signing up and dealing business which can up to a million ringgit industries. But for the Datuk, he is just taking advantages of this.
Referring to the dropout of the bright students, now I ask you back…did you (the sales agent) check the background of the student? Is he/she from a wealthy family or a dysfunctional family? How confident are you that this dropouts are solely just because of focusing on this direct sales? Those sales agents never told me bout this dropout background and give me this kind of stupid example.
Veggie or tree plantation seeds?? Of course I take the tree seeds. Always plans ahead for the future not tomorrow. Trees bear fruits and can be harvested from season to season whereas veggie can’t. Now I ask you back, does this direct sales are a kin to veggie seeds or tree seeds??

Back home I really frustrated and also angry at myself. During on the way back, he even told me the company’s main product- vitamins and supplementary dietary pills with all the benefits and how ‘pure’ is the supplements itself.(Perhaps I will post it another time on how these supplementary pills can damage us)

IMHO, I must admit that being involved in this kind of direct sales is very beneficial and very lucrative. But I always remember from what I’ve learnt is that for every things that you’ve do there will be a price to pay. These direct sales agents they are smart. They indirectly manipulating me into this direct sales and damn they were good. They never even mentioned their company name either or showing how proud they were.

If you recommend a product to me, YES I will buy it from you because you are my FRIEND.If you recommend another new product to me, YES AGAIN I will buy it from you but if you recommend me for the THIRD time, do you think that I will purchase it from you again? Being a good friends is to pleased you. I don’t mind all the products that you recommend to me but how can I befriends with you again if you keep annoying me like that? Every business has its ups and downs. There are no one doing business without expecting themselves earning all the time and without failing even once. My this dear friend has forgotten to check my background. My mom and my dad’s family side are all involved in business marketing and they have lots of ups and downs throughout their marketing lives and now those sales agents telling me that there are only ups but no downs?

Is that so hard to say ‘thank you’??

I know I’ve been talking a lot bout stuffs that related to computers lately but learning all this crappy pc knowledge is one of my hobby though….

You see, whenever you – or anyone that has a problems with their laptops or pcs, I’ll offer my help right away. Of course, the more I diagnose your computers, the more I will learn. It’s a win-win situation alright – you got your lappie fixed and I learn new stuffs.

To date, I’ve received more than 10+ laptop from uni friends and without a doubt I fixed it for them without a single charge. From the first day of the semester in my uni, I seen a lot of these ads pasting all over my hostel wall offering for laptop maintenance or even virus/malware removal with a fee. Yes, most of them were offering about RM10 for reformatting laptops while RM5-RM8 for a simple virus removal.

Friends even told me “dude, why don’t you setup your own business?? you can earn a lot!!”

I rejected it anyway…

Earning my friends money never cross my mind. I do it for fun and I’m really enjoying it all these times. I even helped my friends how to setup a blog for god’s sake.

Each time I handed over the repaired laptop to my friends, I just love to hear them saying “thank you”. To me, it’s the most satisfying words than treating me a meal or drinks. How bad that could be??

Actually there is one Malay gal – my course mate of course, begging me for help to fix her laptop. At first, I didn’t really want to do it cause I was busy doing my report and finally when some of her friends persuade me to help her, I help.

She keeps on annoying me asking me whether her laptop is done or not and personally, it really pissing me off but I hold it quite firm – I didn’t release my anger to anyone and that slowly the anger subsides from time to time. No more Kang Yao that likes to yell at people ….at the moment.

Removing the virus from her laptop was, I should say quite easy and I SMSed her that her laptop will be returned to her the next day. The next day, I ask my friend to carry her laptop and delivered to her as they have the same lab while I was away busy settle some stuffs at the faculty. Later on that day, she saw me but she never says anything except one of her friends saying ‘thank you’ on behalf of her and I was like – Fine…

Few days later, when I ask her bout her laptop whether it’s working fine or not, whether if the virus trace is still there or not, and this is how she replied to me;

“la…delete virus aje, siape pun tahu”

That is exactly the answer she told me and she never even thanked me sincerely for repairing her laptop. From that on, I swear to myself that I will never touch her laptop again EVER!

That day, I was keep on thinking….did I screw up anything or pissed somebody off?? As far as I’ve known, I didn’t talk so much with her and why she hate me so much?

I know saying the word ‘I love you’, ‘let’s breakup’, or even ‘I hate you’ were quite tough to say but ‘thank you’? come on, I never ask for your money or force your to buy me a drink/meal.

Maybe I’ve should reconsider again if I wanna repair my friends laptop again….

What did I missed?

Finally my second semester of this second year in UTHM is officially over. Of course, due to the final examinations that I've worked so hard for it and in the end I screw it up, I really doesn't have much time to keep my blog alive. Besides, the connection in my hostel isn't getting any better so I didn't really keen on updating my blog unless I have to travel all the way to downstairs to get online at the computer lab.

Well, there are quite some happenings during these semester that I've never post it on my blog though. Anyway, a picture speaks a thousand words - a colourful memories of second semester of 2008/2009 :P

Got settle our rental house for the next semester of course, after arguements and discussions which finally lead us to this house, located at the Parit Raja town - Taman Waja.

Celebrating our good 老大's birthday eventhough at that time the weather wasn't on our side to go to his house and of course,
My birthday....

Things have changed a lot at Kolej Kediaman Tun Syed Nasir too, not to mention some weird stuffs....
Changing my double-deck bed to a single bed frame plus a new mattress. New mattress is the happiest things that they offer for us especially me. Why? cause the old one....and you don't wanna know. (guess yourself, hint- this room used to be occupied by female)

Helping my roommate, Pua on tearing down the poster after the election campaign was over. This election by the way was for the committee of the hostel to fill up the vacant seats.

Three o'clock in the morning...
My usual bedtime for this semester due to those crappy assignments and projects.
Average sleep hours = 4-5 a day (8 o'clock need to wake up the next day)
Usually at this hour, I tend to rush and at that time Wei Kuo was calling to my cell wishing me happy birthday but I was stress at that time and I don't even know what was I talking....

Dead bird in my room....
Maybe that bird just start learn to fly but I think it over do it...
Luckily, no one was in the room but kind pity that bird also la...
Off to the garbage bin~

I had to hack the dead lock of my room early in the morning as the shaft in the dead lock was broken so that my roommate can enter to get his sleep after he worked so hard and so tired on the robot for Robocon which is due to this week.

After the last paper, I've thought it would've been a great idea to go out celebrate and have some fun. however....

A game of bowling and eating yau char kuai become the bestest way to celebrate and ending this stupid semester....

Finally I've changed my old Firefox 2.0.0.20 to the new 3.0.8...
And the process of moving the whole extensions, cookies, and those bookmarks have cost me one whole day since some of the extensions aren't compatible with the new Firefox. If you wanna know bout my current extension, here is the list of extensions that I've been using:

Of course, my extension will not stop here. I do have installed some new extensions and here's are the list that I've recently downloaded:

1. Pencil
2. Persona for Firefox
3. MacOSX (theme)
4. MacfoxIII(theme)
5. Maxton2 brower (theme)

Looks pretty neat eh?

But there's a problem during the transplant of these new web browser. I never do a clean uninstallation and the script which responsible for running the Firefox were not deleted. This has cost me some weird looks to my new browser....
If you are trying to do a clean uninstallation, here's how,

First, exit Firefox.
Then go to add/remove program(winXP) or Program & features (win Vista) and select Firefox to uninstall. But I recommend that you use Revo Uninstaller to do the job (much better).

Since I'm using Windows Vista, then the following steps will be done under Vista....
Ok, move on to the next step now...

Delete firefox folder - the default folder is C:\programfiles\Mozilla firefox
- Also delete the hidden file as well in that directory

Delete the folders from C:\users\\Appdata\Local\Mozilla\Firefox
Delete the folders from C:\users\\Appdata\Local\virtualstore\Programfiles\Mozillafirefox

Then delete C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\all firefox files

And finally, go to start menu, then choose the run and type %APPDATA% and then press enter.
open the folder \talkback\mozillaorg\folder
The folder will show Firefox#. # indicates the number.

That's all folks....hehe

BTW, since the final exam is coming very very near, I won't be putting any post until the finals is over.
